Ishan Kishan’s Century Anchors India C's Dominance on Day 1 Against India B in Duleep Trophy

Ishan Kishan’sbrilliant 111 off 126 balls headlined a dominantday for India C in the second round of the Duleep Trophy against India B as they posted a strong total of 357 for 5 at stumps. The match played at the Rural Development Trust Stadium in Anantapur saw Kishan form the backbone of India C’s innings, alongside Baba Indrajith who contributed a solid 78. Together the pair put on a 189-run stand for the third wicket taking the game away from India B.

The day began with India B’s captain Ruturaj Gaikwad hitting a boundary off Mukesh Kumar on the very first ball. Unfortunatelly Gaikwad had to retire hurt just a ball later due to an ankle injury. Rajat Patidar (40) and Sai Sudharsan (43) then steadied the ship with a 92-run opening partnership. How ever both batters fell within an over of each other with Patidar bowled by Navdeep Saini and Sudharsan caught off Mukesh Kumar’s bowling.

Kishan and Indrajith dominated from there with Kishan’s innings featuring 14 boundaries and threesixes. Mukesh Kumar eventually broke the partnership bowling Kishan out followed by Indrajith’s dismissal six overs later by Rahul Chahal. Mukesh ended the day as the pick of the bowlers for India B with figures of 3 for 76.

A positive for IndiaC was Gaikwad’s return to the crease after the fall of Kishan's wicket. He remained unbeaten on 42 off 44 balls by the end of the day. Manav Suthar chipped in with two boundaries before the close of play helping India C finish the day on a strong note.
